Statement of Purpose:

The Scholarship Committee awards scholarships for the purpose of recognizing high school seniors and technical school or college students who actively reside in Operation Relief Center owned properties and have pursued academic or technical excellence. These awards are intended to provide financial assistance to student residents attaining their educational and career goals. Scholarships are funded by Operation Relief Center.

Eligibility Requirements - Applicants Must:

● Be a resident of properties owned by Operation Relief Center. (Confirmation of applicant’s residency will be confirmed by management and ORC staff); AND

● Resident household must be in good standing including no delinquent rent and or repayment for any damages; AND

● Have a high school cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale or attend a technical school or college/university (applicants must provide evidence of an acceptance letter); OR

● Hold a GED and will attend a technical school or college/university (applicants must provide evidence of an acceptance letter); OR

● Be an existing student at a technical school or college/university with a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (applicants must provide evidence of current enrollment and current GPA).

● An official high school transcript with a cumulative GPA (must include Senior Year 1st Semester grades and be submitted via email by the Registrars Office), OR

● Copy of GED Certification, OR

● A current official technical school or college transcript (submitted via email by the Registrars Office); AND

● 3 - Letters of recommendation from a Teacher, School Counselor or Administrator, Academic Advisor or Professor (the letter cannot be from a relative of the applicant)

● Essay response to one of the two prompts below (must be typed)

● Photo (Head Shot Only)

Application Submission Instructions & Deadline:

All eligibility and application requirements must be met in order for an application to be considered for scholarship awards. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

All completed applications and transcripts must be submitted no later than May 31, 2024. No application materials will be accepted after the deadline.
